Flossy is going to the snow for a school trip mid year 7 days and 3 in the snow.....I have no idea what to buy her that will keep her warm. I have just spent 3 hours on e-bay.
My question is...What kind of jacket will she need ?
If she is a size 10-12(girl)in Au size,is this the same as the USA sizing?
Will she need ski pants and some kind of special socks or thermos underwear?
What about gloves and goggles?
Does anyone know a good online store, (international is fine)..... a snow shop here in Au is as rare as hens teeth...
Thanks heaps guys......can you tell I have never been to the snow ?..

Wow - you don't all own snow boots, ski bibs and parkas? For playing in the front yard. Our sporting goods stores are filled to the rim with all this stuff - so I'm not sure where to go online, REI, Eddie Bauer come to mind, but they aren't cheap.
Where is she going to go to find the snow? Oh, and my 8 year old should be wearing a size 8, (she's not because she's an amazon, but that seems to be the american size basis. Happy hunting.
Thanks Colleen I will goggle REI amd Eddie Bauer and see what comes up.
Floss is going to Canberra in Au and they take a bus to the snow resort...A couple of families I now go every year as their annual break. The snow does not last for long.
I have never thought about it(very expensive)....you can travel OS for the same price but would love to have a white christmas one year!
Hi...if you still need websites..sierra trading has stuff for less..and there's overstock.com..don't know if any of those do intn'l...i got some great thermal underwear at sierra trading and not too expenseive.
you adopted the right neighborhood for advice on winter wear..hahaha
oh and i forgot, one of those things people who do snow stuff know and others may not...if you're going to be in ski, snowboarding or snowmobiling boots for any length of time...bring up some seriously comfy warm slippers to put on and your feet will THANK YOU! Crocks have these great ones with their normal look lined with sheep skin looking stuff...scrumptious
Crud. I wish Flossie were a boy I could send you all the winter gear you could need. It is cold here from November through April so we have plenty. There are some wonderful things you can put inside shoes and gloves that keep warm for a couple hours. I will try to remember what they are called. I would recommend ebay for some winter stuff, most ship internationally. Make sure you get warm socks and mittens and a hat...can't have too many of those :)All the winter stuff here is on sale right now with the spring clothes coming in already--geesh!
Thanks Tz I will look at those stores.
We get Croc shoes over here but they are plastic, most scrub nurses wear them. Do they have another name ?.
Ohn..thanks for your help,do you mean thermo wear like socks and long johns?.
